Free masterclass: Coaching Your Team's Technical Storytelling
Oct 27, 2026
Technical people don't need more slides. They need a story. On Tuesday 24 November I'll show you how to coach them.
It's a free 45-minute online masterclass on Microsoft Teams, 12:30 to 13:15 UK, for leaders of technical teams.
Coaching Your Team's Technical Storytelling: how to help your technical experts land their message with any audience.
Why I'm running it
If you lead a technical team, you've hired brilliant people. But more and more, they have to win over budget holders, executives and customers, not just other engineers. You're the one responsible for making them better at it, and nobody ever showed you how to coach it.
This session gives you the tools to do exactly that.
What we'll cover
- AOREN: your guiding light. Audience, Objective, Remembered, Emotion, Next steps. It's the framework I use to plan every presentation. I'll walk through each part, and how your team can use it before any big stakeholder conversation. (Here's a taster.)
- Connect through story. Why emotional connection matters as much as the facts with senior people, and simple frameworks that help anyone tell a good story, including the people on your team who say they're not storytellers.
- Coach your team. How to coach your people to use both: a coaching process and the questions that help them plan a presentation, pick the right story and tell it well.
After each part I'll stop for a few minutes of questions, so bring your real situations.
What you'll leave with
- A simple way to coach your team before any big stakeholder conversation
- The questions to ask, so you stop rewriting their slides yourself
- A team that can influence without you in every senior meeting
- A coaching pack you can use on Monday
Everyone who registers also gets the recording.
