TWHS#084: Human Connection Beats AI

Sep 09, 2025

Human connection and influence has never been more important.  AI isn't enough.

"What?!?!  Ben, you're smoking crack!"  I hear people cry …

"Human connection is far less important.  Persuasive narratives can be created from a simple prompt.  Stellar insight can be found in your data with a couple of keyboard strokes.  Human connection is less important."

Ok, here's the thing …  everyone can do the AI thing.  It's just raised the tide for everyone. Don't get me wrong, you need to be able to do the AI stuff too.

But then you need to stand apart.  Separate yourself from everyone else (that's got the same AI prompt and ChatGPT subscription as you).

And that's through human connection.  When everyone has compelling written communication, when everyone has amazing insight, the ability to influence humans makes the difference.  The ability to build trust.  To make emotional connections.  To be memorable.  To influence decision makers.

They're human skills that you can develop and make you stand out.  They make you more successful.

Now of course, you can use AI to amplify your human skills.  I do.  But they need to be fused with strong human skills.  And not everyone is making the effort.

AI is reducing the depth of relationships.  If you're able to strengthen yours, huge success will follow.

Hope this helps
